Earlwood Wanderers runs an inter-club competition (games against other Earlwood Teams) for both the Under 6 and Under 7 age group.

Players receive a Home jersey (our current Black and Yellow strip) and an Away jersey (our historic Black and White strip) to wear to games on alternating weeks.

The aim of small sided football is to introduce players to the concept of functioning as a team, learning about using the space of a field, learning passing and positioning in order to score goals. Most important of all, it is to have fun and be active.

For parents the inter-club competition is convenient as all games are at the same location and time each week:

Under 6s are at Beaman Park (Enter via Riverview Road and Wardell Road) Earlwood. Kick-off at 9am.

Under 7s are at Beaman park (Enter via Riverview Road and Wardell Road) Earlwood. Kick-off at 10:30am.

Behrang Cup

This year’s Behrang Cup will be on Saturday 25 July 2026, Earlwood Oval, Dora St Earlwood.

U6 Kick off at 8.30am (arrive 30 minutes prior)

U7 kick off at 10.15am (arrive 30 minutes prior)

All Families and friends welcome to come and cheer on the players.

About the Behrang Cup

Behrang Dehestani was a beloved young Sydneysider, born in Tehran and educated in our inner-west. A successful civil engineer who contributed to major public works in this region of Sydney, Behrang was also an adventurous traveller and a talented sportsman.

Like many of us in the EWFC community, football was one of his lifelong loves.

The Behrang Cup is a special day in the EWFC season: a round-robin tournament for our youngest footballers, with a series of back-to-back games leading to the awarding of a trophy for the best-performing team on the day.

It’s a rare chance for our younger players to give their all in a genuinely competitive environment, and a wonderful morning out for friends and families to cheer on their little ones.

The generous support of the Dehestani family makes it all possible. The quest for the cup is a beautiful reflection of the drive to aim high so exemplified in Behrang’s life.
